THE LOVE OF FAMILY

Who will be there to pick you up, after you have failed?

Who will be there to live, laugh, love, share, and feel as you do;
your joys, your sadness, your gain and losses

Who are the ones you always neglect and conflict, what their eyes see
when your mind is dusted and dazed

Who are the ones who truly know you heart and soul
who "Feel Your Pain"

when others believe they know you,
by seeing a ficticious person and name
what an evil environment, can make you out to be?
left to point fingers;
judge by fear of their own demonic conscience
what simple minds can concoct and believe

Where is the thing called TRUST and HONESTY
do those qualities still exist?

Where is the love, where is the loyalty, commitment and devotion?
and remember that thing called trust and honesty

It’s found in the first place, the first place you ever called home……

"WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES"

WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES you don't just hurt yourself;
you HURT the ones who TRUELY LOVE YOU....

WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES you affect many hearts;
you just don't kill your own

WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES the enemy has won;
you have given into your fears; no longer here
To live your precious life on earth

WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES you leave questions unanswered
and a HEARTBROKEN SOUL, cold and shaken
where there is still no CLOSURE

What are you running from;
has the problem gone away
STILL there is talk and your name continues to be slandered and shamed

Many LIES, many SECRETS, a real-life SCANDAL;
somehow when the clock stopped ticking
now the TRUTH betold

WHEN TRAGEDY STRIKES who can you trust;
who can you believe,
I've never BELIEVED;
so I put trust in the ones who consoled me, told me the troubles....
and the truth like it needs be
and to the end showed STRENGTH, LOYALTY, and true POWER
gifts "THEY" could never EXECUTE much less possess or acheive
nor be true to their own souls
only to materials that ching and fold

What would "THEY" do when I'm GONE?
YOU know that answer
so tell me, at the end which one of us were wrong......

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

This is a poem I wrote sometime after the World Trade Center were attacked.....Though I have many memories of the towers from working within the lower Manhattan vicinity for many years, I feel a major connection to that area and I felt the need to express my feelings through words......

SEPTEMBER MORNING

I'm missing you
who would have known
this would have happened
All you did was leave for work
to never return
That September morning

Life is so different
we all felt the pain
it didn't even matter
if we knew your name
No longer here, just your memories remain
Who could forget that September morning..........

Please leave comments of your feelings.......

Thank you

THE N-WORD

Good Day Bloggers....

I am very concerned about how our youth and many of us as adults use the word "NIGGER, NIGGA, NIGGAH" however you want to spell and use it.

(Etymology: alteration of earlier neger, from Middle French negre, from Spanish or Portuguese negro, from negro black, from Latin niger.)1. usually offensive; a black person 2. usually offensive; a member of any dark-skinned race 3. a member of a socially disadvantaged class of persons; "It's time for somebody to lead all of America's niggers…all the people who feel left out of the political process "— Ron Dellums.....

Nigger in senses 1 and 2 can be found in the works of such writers of the past as Joseph Conrad, Mark Twain, and Charles Dickens, but it now ranks as perhaps the most offensive and inflammatory racial slur in English. Its use by and among blacks is not always intended or taken as offensive, but, except in sense 3, it is otherwise a word expressive of racial hatred and bigotry.-- Webster's Dictionary

Viewed as a very derogatory label, it troubles me the way people so freely use this term on blogs, My-Space, and Facebook. Speaking to your friends and family in the privacy of your home; hey, you may do as you please, however coming from a true lady this term has always bothered me and resignates with a lot of people as negative and hurtful. But this is America and citizens have the right to Free Speech, so may it be used if you and your company feel comfortable and no one is offended, that is solely up to you. However leaving "status quotes" and "comments" with "NIGGA" in a sentence, shows a lack of respect for others as well as yourselves!

The "NIGGA" users need to take into consideration people who view these sites and need to think about the history of the word and what baggage it brings to the table for just innocent readers. Because, yes, as a citizen in the free world, you have to be aware of your impact on others, the youth and yourself. Who knows and innocent reader can be a potential employer, who now has rejected you and put you into the "NIGGA" group.

What needs to be remembered is that the word "NIGGA" originated from White slave masters who created a term for their slaves. The word comes from a place of "HATE", control and years and years of cruelty. Now a days, I don't think the "NIGGA" users take this into consideration. However, my defintion of "NIGGA" is anyone who exercises pure ignorance. I will not sit here and say I never used the word, however no one can judge me by what is done in my "PRIVATE" home. You need to give thought to what you bring out for others to see, hear and speak about.

Society says "don't judge a book by its cover", however we are judged everyday by the way we walk, talk, dress, wear our hair, our jewelry, cars and residence, our significant others, what we do for a living, and who are our friends etc. So before getting overly comfortable in any situation or environment, I urge you to think about the actions you make and the words you speak.........

Feel free to leave comments as well as following me on this blog.

CARE FOR FATTY EYELIDS

Are you noticing a change in your face? Are your eyes and cheekbones becoming a bit loose and droopy well I have some do it yourself care remedies...

For the fatty eyelids, I suggest using "Clarins Eye Contour Gel" for regular treatments and "Clarins Advanced Extra-Firming Eye Contour Serum", for advanced stages of muscle deteriation around your eyes and eyelids. You can also try a fairly new product by CLINIQUE "all about eyes". Before doing this you need to cleanse your skin. Use CLINIQUE's 3 step face type; cleaner, clarifying liquid and moisturizer. Please make sure and use a good amount of the moisturizer to the face before going to bed at night; as a well moisturized face at night brings vibrant skin in the morning. Also during the change of season's you need to have your skin tested for the correct formula, as skin changes during each season. Testing should be done when you buy the 3 Step kit.

As far as the laugh lines, I suggest more smiling and less frowning. It takes more face muscles to frown than smile. "Clarins Extra-Firming Tightening Lift Botanical Serum" or "CLINIQUE youth surge", are two products I suggest. However do remember with these products, you will only see results when they are used as directed and applied nightly. Please be advised these products will not give you 18 year old skin, however it will give you a fresh and brighter look.

An old school Italian woman once told me her skin stays beautiful by drinking a tea spoon of olive oil nightly. I tried it and did notice a change. So if you can take the taste of raw oil, olive oil works great for the skin. However if you cannot take the taste, simply add oil to a cotton ball and apply to the eyes before bed...

Summer

As we are winding down to the end of Summer 09', what were the highlights? Summer for me has truely not been the same for years. I don't understand, maybe it is the company we spend time with, that do not make our summer as exciting and full of fun as it once were, or maybe I am just getting older. I remember as a child playing double dutch, the jingle of Mr. Softey, not like these imitation trucks that come around now, even as an adult, the best thing of hearing children laugh, scream and play....the sounds of happiness, the sounds of innocence. Where has it all gone? What happened to having a wonderful life? Maybe you can tell me.
